Australia Is Not So Lucky This Year.
With the devastating floods that recently hit just about every state and territory in Australia and is continuing to flood rivers and towns as you read this. Victoria is currently under attack in the Gippsland area from bushfires and Queensland is bracing itself for the largest ever cyclone to hit Australia - a Category 5 Cyclone named Yasi.
This cyclone is going to be devastating to Queensland people in the forms of their homes, businesses, place of work and maybe worse. While many people are standing at the ready to help these people when the cyclone has passed, I would like you to consider helping our native wildlife.
Our native Aussie animals will always need your help.

How could anyone not remember the struggle of this one little koala - found by CFA member David Tree and a group of CFA Members.
Sam the Koala made headline news around the world in a matter of days - this little koala who had been burnt in the fires was saved by this wonderful group of CFA members - David Tree, pictured above with Sam the Koala - gave this poor little koala a much needed drink of water, see how Sam even holds onto his rescuers hand? It's obvious that this koala knew these people were helping him. It's not hard to lend a hand is it..........
Please, we all dug deep in 2009 for our animals AFTER the disaster happened, disasters to our native wildlife are happening right now! Please, check out the Help For Wildlife page as it contains many places that you can contact and make a donation. Australia Fauna Care has a fantastic list of wildlife shelters in every state and territory. Take a look at the Australia Fauna Care website and you will find a shelter somewhere near you, or one in a particular area you would like to help out.
However, all wildlife shelters greatly appreciate non-scented boxes of tissues and old towels, sheets etc. They always need these things. Many wildlife shelters also have 'wish lists' on their websites. These Wish Lists are things that the particular shelter needs - maybe you could even help them out with their wish list?
Have a look, help out if you can.
Our Wildlife Thank You, We Thank You Too.
