Supporting Australian Flora and Fauna
In 'The Land Down Under' - Australia, we are very fortunate to have so many places that we can easily get to, to see our native animals and plants. I am lucky to have been to most of the zoos and sanctuaries in Australia, as well as visit many of our National Parks.
I recommend that everyone should take the time to go and explore their own local zoo, santuary and National Park - it's amazing the wonderful landscapes, flora and fauna that we have here in 'The Land Down Under' - Australia.
Endangered Species
This is the Australian Government site which has the list of Endangered and Extinct Animals in Australia - please take the time to have a look at this as it is shocking to see how much Flora and Fauna is lost already and the amount that are in danger of being lost forever.

The scientific community and conservationists have been protecting the well being of marine turtles for many years. The dilemma is that many of the same threats to their survival have been identified to impact upon freshwater turtles as well.
Almost 67% of th world's freshwater turtles and tortoises are listed as THREATENED and in the 2000 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Many new Australian species will be included on the Threatened Species list the moment they are described by science.

CHILDREN’S WILDLIFE COLOURING IN AND ACTIVITY BOOKS
For different parks and regions in NSW
By teacher, illustrator, artist, and conservationist Susie Peake
“If children love birds and animals and understand what it is they need to survive then future generations will benefit.
If they realise the importance of such things as hollow logs, old trees, estuaries as fish nurseries, and undisturbed wetlands then the future of our biodiversity will be more secure - and we are biodiversity.”
“I want to be part of what it takes to save our animal and bird species from extinction, which is where we are headed if we continue to upset the balance of nature.”
Through these books, Susie encourages kids to become more familiar with the needs of our precious wildlife and what they need to survive.
Coming up…Primary School Teachers resources with curriculum related activities - to help teachers teach kids about habitats and interdependence.
